Pope Linus

Saint Irenaeus, writing about the year 180, names Linus as the man to whom the Apostles entrusted the Church of Rome after Peter. He may be the Linus whose greetings Saint Paul sends from Rome in 2 Timothy 4:21. His name is recited in the Roman Canon of the Mass.
