First Reading
This passage is numbered differently in the Catholic Public Domain Version, so it can’t be shown verse by verse here. Read the chapter, or see the reading at USCCB.
Responsorial Psalm
1This is to David, when his land was restored to him. The Lord has reigned, let the earth exult. Let the many islands rejoice.
2Clouds and mist are all around him. Justice and judgment are corrections from his throne.
3A fire will precede him, and it will enflame his enemies all around.
4His lightnings have enlightened the whole world. The earth saw, and it was shaken.
5The mountains flowed like wax before the face of the Lord, before the face of the Lord of all the earth.
6The heavens announced his justice, and all peoples saw his glory.
7May all those who adore graven images be confounded, along with those who glory in their false images. All you his Angels: Adore him.
Gospel
7And when praying, do not choose many words, as the pagans do. For they think that by their excess of words they might be heeded. 8Therefore, do not choose to imitate them. For your Father knows what your needs may be, even before you ask him. 9Therefore, you shall pray in this way: Our Father, who is in heaven: May your name be kept holy. 10May your kingdom come. May your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. 11Give us this day our life-sustaining bread. 12And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation. But free us from evil. Amen. 14For if you will forgive men their sins, your heavenly Father also will forgive you your offenses. 15But if you will not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your sins.
