This passage is numbered differently in the Catholic Public Domain Version, so it can’t be shown verse by verse here. Read the chapter, or see the reading at USCCB.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 37:3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40
3Hope in the Lord and do good, and dwell in the land, and so you shall be pastured with its riches.
4Delight in the Lord, and he will grant to you the petitions of your heart.
18The Lord knows the days of the immaculate, and their inheritance will be in eternity.
19They will not be confounded in an evil time; and in days of famine, they will be satisfied:
27Turn away from evil and do good, and dwell forever and ever.
28For the Lord loves judgment, and he will not abandon his saints. They will be kept safe in eternity. The unjust will be punished, and the offspring of the impious will perish.
39But the salvation of the just is from the Lord, and he is their protector in time of tribulation.
40And the Lord will help them and free them. And he will rescue them from sinners and save them, because they have hoped in him.
Gospel
30Then he taught his disciples, and he said to them, “For the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and having been killed, on the third day he will rise again.” 31But they did not understand the word. And they were afraid to question him. 32And they went to Capernaum. And when they were in the house, he questioned them, “What did you discuss on the way?” 33But they were silent. For indeed, on the way, they had disputed among themselves as to which of them was greater. 34And sitting down, he called the twelve, and he said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be the last of all and the minister of all.” 35And taking a child, he set him in their midst. And when he had embraced him, he said to them: 36“Whoever receives one such child in my name, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives not me, but him who sent me.” 37John responded to him by saying, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name; he does not follow us, and so we prohibited him.”
