Trinity Sunday
Readings for the universal ChurchGeneral Roman Calendar, used by Catholics worldwide
First Reading
32For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and from the one end of the sky to the other, whether there has been anything as great as this thing is, or has been heard like it? 33Did a people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as you have heard, and live? 34Or has God tried to go and take a nation for himself from among another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand, by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
39Know therefore today, and take it to heart, that the LORD himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no one else. 40You shall keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD your God gives you for all time.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 33:4-5, 6, 9, 18-19, 20, 22
4For the LORD’s word is right.
All his work is done in faithfulness.
5He loves righteousness and justice.
The earth is full of the loving kindness of the LORD.
6By the LORD’s word, the heavens were made:
all their army by the breath of his mouth.
9For he spoke, and it was done.
He commanded, and it stood firm.
18Behold, the LORD’s eye is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his loving kindness,
19to deliver their soul from death,
to keep them alive in famine.
20Our soul has waited for the LORD.
He is our help and our shield.
22Let your loving kindness be on us, LORD,
since we have hoped in you.
Second Reading
14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God. 15For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God; 17and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
Gospel
16But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had sent them. 17When they saw him, they bowed down to him; but some doubted. 18Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
